Description

The Starboard Front Wing MF UCS 2026 is a high-aspect front wing for downwind foiling, light-wind wing foiling and windsurf racing. The MF series originated from Martin Fischer and Mathieu Durand's 7000X auto-optimization process and delivers early take-off, effortless gliding and impressive top speed. All MF front wings use the UCS standard (Universal Connection System) and are therefore modularly combinable with masts, fuselages and tail wings.

Why this product is right for you

  • Extremely high aspect ratios of 13.5 to 19.7 across the available sizes – maximum glide performance and range.
  • Early take-off, efficient pumping and long gliding without falling off – ideal for downwinders.
  • Impressive top speed even in light to medium wind, as described on the brand page.
  • UCS-compatible: front wing can be combined with various masts, fuselages and tail wings.
  • Available in several spans (101 cm to 125 cm depending on size) and aspect ratios.
  • Optimized for downwind, light-wind race and course racing use with wing and windsurf.
  • Very good upwind performance according to manufacturer specifications.

Who it is suitable for

  • Downwind foilers looking for maximum glide and pump performance.
  • Wing foilers who want to race in light to medium wind.
  • Windsurfers in the course racing and light wind category.
  • Advanced and professional foilers looking for a highly efficient front wing.
  • Racers who focus on early take-offs and high top speed.
  • Foilers who appreciate a modular UCS system.
  • Use in downwind missions, SUP downwind and parawing setups.

Details and specifications

All MF front wings use the UCS standard and are therefore an open, modular system for all foiling disciplines. The sizes differ in span and aspect ratio – this makes it possible to choose the right one for rider weight, wind and target speed.

  • Sizes in this group: 640, 820, 960, 1160
  • Aspect ratio and span per size (manufacturer specifications): MF 1160 = 125 cm / 13.5 AR, MF 960 = 115 cm / 13.8 AR, MF 820 = 112 cm / 15.3 AR, MF 640 = 98 cm / 15.0 AR
  • UCS compatibility (Universal Connection Standard) – open plug-in system for mast, fuselage and tail wing.
  • Designed for downwind, light-wind wing and windsurf racing.
  • Recommended tail wing pairings: MF 200 (downwind standard), MF 160 Short, MF 130 Short (higher glide performance). For wing/windsurf use also SLX 160 or SLX 180 H.A.R.
  • Developed with the 7000X auto-optimization process by Martin Fischer and Mathieu Durand.

The MF is designed for downwind foiling and light-wind wing or windsurf racing. It delivers early take-off, efficient gliding, and high top speeds.

Which system is the MF Front Wing compatible with?

All MF Front Wings are designed for the UCS (Universal Connection Standard), the open Starboard connection standard for foils.

What sizes are available for the MF Front Wing?

The MF range includes sizes 1160, 960, 820, 720, 640, and 580. For 2026, the smaller, performance-oriented sizes 640 and 580 will be added.
