The Power Batten
One of the biggest challenges in wing design - especially for large wings - is ensuring that everything stays in proper shape during flight. The patented carbon fiber Power Batten we developed, located perpendicular to the strut in the rear of the canopy, ensures a precise profile across the entire length of the wing from leading to trailing edge. This improves power delivery in the center of the wing with extremely efficient airflow and enables the wing's characteristic bat tail contour. A narrower span with less weight on the outside is more balanced, easier to pump onto the foil, and feels smaller overall than other wings of the same area - all major advantages on the water.
Cross Panel Sail Design

The innovative Cross Panel Sail (XPS) design provides an excellent feeling of connection to the wing while riding. By arranging the canopy panels diagonally, this futuristic panel layout significantly reduces sail distortion and improves load distribution and frame stiffness. This gives all XPS Lightwind sizes a very direct and controlled feel for easy and comfortable flying. Removable carbon fiber battens minimize trailing edge flutter and allow for easy adjustment of the canopy to different wind strengths.

Hybrid Carbon Handles
The patented Hybrid Carbon Handle (HCH) design features a stiff carbon inner skeleton and a soft padded exterior. This combination of lightness and stiffness, also found on our XPS wings, offers the best balance of control and comfort. The strut shape positions the handles in an extremely ergonomic position to increase endurance during practice. The absence of hard edges also provides greater safety in impacts for you and your board.
