What makes the Cheetah different?

Broadseaming. The shape of the Cheetah is “baked into” the sail by the broadseaming. This gives the Cheetah a deep belly that mimics the effect of cambers on a sail, making the Cheetah stable and powerful while remaining camless and light across a broad wind range.

The Endo-batten system further locks the shape into the panels. The Cheetah has no batten pockets. Instead, the battens are inserted into the space between the sewn together panels. With a traditional batten pocket, the sail is asymmetric. The Endo-batten, on the other hand, allows for a perfectly symmetrical profile.
What do we mean when we talk about the quality construction of the Cheetah?

Living and testing in Maui, we have learned how to build sails that can stand up to the elements. The Cheetah is a freeride sail, but it was built with the wisdom of over 35 years of experience making wave sails. There is no monofilm to quickly tear and break. The Cheetah is built from light and strong scrim, Dyneema, and Technora reinforced sailcloth. We use RBS epoxy battens, the strongest battens in the world.

Every seam is glued and covered before being sewn. David Ezzy owns his own factory because no other factory can produce the quality he demands.

Every sail is rigged in the factory by our experienced craftsmen who check every inch from the headcap to the pulley. During the rigging, the sail battens are set so it is ready to go for the first session.
