FAQ

FAQ

What is the Aeron RDM Carbon mast extension?

The Aeron RDM Carbon is a high-quality mast extension for windsurfers, made from prepreg carbon for particularly low weight and high stability. It is designed for RDM masts (Reduced Diameter Mast) and is inserted between the mast base and the mast.

Which masts is the Aeron RDM Carbon suitable for?

The extension fits RDM masts with a reduced diameter. Thanks to the Europin system, it is universally applicable and compatible with common mast base systems.

How is the length of the mast extension adjusted?

The length can generally be adjusted precisely to your sail's specifications in 2 cm increments using the pin-in-hole system. This allows you to precisely set the appropriate mast tension for your sail.

What advantages does the prepreg carbon construction offer?

Prepreg carbon is the lightest and strongest manufacturing method for carbon extensions. The result is a very light, stiff, and responsive extension with direct power transfer – ideal for sporty windsurfing.

How does the Trimpully system work?

The Trimpully and its mounting on the extension are made from a single piece. Large stainless steel pulleys ensure smooth line routing, and the integrated Clamcleat allows you to set the trim line precisely and secure it safely.

For which applications is the Aeron RDM Carbon recommended?

Thanks to its low weight and high stiffness, the carbon extension is particularly suitable for wave, freeride, and freemove sails, where direct feedback and a light rig are important. It is equally suitable for intermediate riders and ambitious sailors.

How do I properly care for my carbon mast extension?

Rinse the extension with fresh water after every session in salt water, especially the stainless steel pulleys and the Clamcleat. Regularly check the elastic stopper and replace it if worn, so that the mast base remains securely in the desired position.
