Ascan Mast Extension Big Wheel Pin - SDM

FAQ

What is the Ascan Big Wheel Pin mast extension used for?

The mast extension is inserted between the mast and the mast base to finely adjust the sail height and thus the pressure point of the rig. This allows you to specifically adjust the luff tension of the sail and optimize handling.

For which masts is the Big Wheel Pin suitable?

This version is designed for SDM masts (Standard Diameter Mast) and is therefore suitable for classic standard masts. If you use a thinner mast, you need the RDM version.

What adjustment ranges are available?

The Ascan Big Wheel Pin is available in two lengths: 15 cm and 45 cm adjustment range. This allows you to choose the right version depending on the sail size and area of use.

How does the adjustment system work?

The adjustment system works with an increment of 2.5 cm and is particularly easy to operate thanks to three large brass rollers. This allows you to adjust the height quickly and precisely even with wet hands and under load.

Why are three large brass rollers installed?

The three large brass rollers ensure an even distribution of pressure on the mast and particularly easy trimming of the extension. Brass is also resistant to seawater and durable.

Is the mast extension also suitable for beginners?

Yes, the Ascan Big Wheel Pin is affordable, stable, and functional, and is therefore suitable for both beginners and ambitious windsurfers looking for a reliable extension with fine adjustment.

How do I properly care for the mast extension?

Rinse the extension with fresh water after use in salt water and let it dry. Occasionally greasing the adjustment mechanism keeps the brass rollers easy to operate and protects against corrosion.

What is included with the mast extension?

The scope of delivery includes the mast extension itself including the pin and mounted brass rollers, so that it can be mounted directly on the rig.
