What is the Ascan SUP anti-theft device for the powerbox designed for?

The Ascan anti-theft device is screwed into the fin box of your board's powerbox and serves as a permanent lock to reliably secure your SUP or windsurf board against theft.

How is the Ascan board lock attached in the powerbox?

You place the board lock in the fin box of the powerbox and tighten it by hand with a suitable flat-head screwdriver. This ensures it sits securely and tamper-proof in the board.

What additional accessories do I need for the anti-theft device?

In addition to the board lock, you need a steel cable (e.g., the Ascan cable lock) and a standard padlock to secure the board to a fixed object.

Does the board lock also fit in my windsurf board with a powerbox?

Yes, the Ascan board lock is specially designed for boards with a powerbox system and fits both SUPs and windsurf boards with a corresponding fin box.

How large is the opening for the steel cable on the board lock?

The opening in the Ascan board lock has a diameter of approx. 1.4 cm and is therefore ideally suited for common steel cables with a 10 mm diameter, such as the Ascan cable lock.

Can I choose the color of the anti-theft device?

Depending on availability, it is supplied in red or blue. Unfortunately, it is not possible to pre-select the color.

Will the board be damaged by the anti-theft device?

No, the board lock is simply screwed into the existing powerbox. It uses the existing fin box, leaves no additional holes, and can be removed without a trace if necessary.

Is the anti-theft device also suitable for use in saltwater?

The Ascan board lock is designed for use in and around the water. After surfing, you should rinse it with fresh water to remove salt and sand residue and extend its service life.
