The Boom Protector is a pad that you fit over the head of your mast. It reliably protects the mast and, above all, your board from impacts, scratches, and collision damage – for example during transport, when launching or landing, or when the boom comes into contact with the board.

Does the Boom Protector also reduce the risk of injury?

Yes, the soft padding absorbs impacts on the mast head, thereby reducing the risk of injury from getting caught or unexpected contact – a sensible added layer of safety on the water.

How is the Boom Protector attached to the mast?

The protector is simply pulled over the mast head and sits securely there thanks to its snug, elastic design. Installation and removal are quick and tool-free.

Does the Boom Protector fit every windsurf mast?

The Boom Protector is designed as a standard size (STD) and fits the common NeilPryde windsurf masts. For particularly small or very wide mast heads, we recommend a quick test fit before use.

Does the Boom Protector interfere with surfing or manoeuvres?

No, the protector is deliberately slim and unobtrusive in shape. It sits firmly on the mast head, does not press against you, and does not affect your posture or manoeuvres such as hooking in, tacking, or harness manoeuvres.
