Chinook RDM Extension Pin

FAQ

What is the Chinook RDM Extension Pin used for?

The Chinook RDM Extension Pin is installed between the mast and the mast base to increase the effective mast length. This makes it easier to trim larger sails or achieve a greater luff span.

Is the Extension Pin compatible with RDM masts?

The Chinook Extension Pin is specifically designed for use with RDM (Reduced Diameter) masts and is therefore ideal for modern windsurf rigs.

What material is the Chinook RDM Extension Pin made of?

The Chinook RDM Extension Pin is made of robust aluminum and ensures a stable, durable extension for your rig.

Can I also use the Extension Pin with SDM masts?

This pin is designed for RDM masts. For SDM masts, you need a corresponding SDM extension pin, as the differences in diameter will otherwise not fit.

How do I install the Chinook RDM Extension Pin?

The pin is simply inserted between the lower mast end and the mast base or Chinook Base and secured with the usual clamping screw.

For which applications is the Extension Pin suitable?

The Extension Pin is recommended wherever you need a greater luff span, such as when windsurfing with larger sails, freeriding, or using a camber sail setup.

Does the Chinook RDM Extension Pin fit all Chinook Bases?

The pin is designed for the Chinook RDM mount and therefore fits standard Chinook mast bases and bases with the RDM standard.

How do I properly care for the Extension Pin?

Rinse the pin with fresh water after use in salt water and regularly check the clamping screw to ensure your setup remains safe and free of play.
