Surely everyone has experienced surprises with standard extensions. They rarely match the rope path on the sail, usually require high trim forces, and often have rather fiddly height adjustments. All these issues were thoroughly analyzed and then addressed in the UNI.XT before construction began. The high-strength and super solid UNI.XT extension may look like many other standard extensions at first glance, but it is packed with innovations that make it an incomparable product. The current version features a completely new adjustment ring that offers a unique feature: based on the proven SDM adjustment ring, the RDM version now also ensures for the first time that the aluminum tube does not come into contact with the mast, which eliminates any contact corrosion. No other RDM extension can do that! To guarantee the same durability despite the reduced diameter, a double-walled sandwich construction made of a 7075 aluminum outer tube and an ovalized T8 inner tube is used (patent pending).

The Duotone Uni.XT RDM is a high-strength mast extension for RDM masts (Reduced Diameter Mast) in windsurfing. It is placed between the mast and the mast base or baseplate to achieve the desired sail height and thus the correct sheet tension on the sail.
For which masts is the Uni.XT RDM suitable?
The Uni.XT RDM is designed exclusively for RDM masts (slimmer mast diameter). For thicker masts, Duotone offers the Uni.XT in a separate SDM version. This ensures that the extension fits the respective mast standard perfectly.
What length is the Uni.XT RDM offered here?
This version has a base length of 36 cm and can be finely adjusted in 2 cm increments with the iSNAP 2.0 adjustment ring. This allows you to comfortably adjust the sail height to the sail size and trim.
What is special about the iSNAP 2.0 adjustment ring?
The iSNAP 2.0 is a completely newly designed adjustment ring that completely prevents contact between the aluminum tube and the mast. This eliminates any contact corrosion – according to Duotone, a unique selling point that no other RDM extension offers.
How robust is the construction of the Uni.XT RDM?
Despite the reduced RDM diameter, Duotone uses a double-walled sandwich construction: a 7075 aluminum outer tube combined with an ovalized T8 inner tube (patent pending). The result is very high durability while maintaining a slim design.

The extension is equipped with the Double Foot Trim. The position of the clamp allows you to brace both feet against the cup when lowering, similar to rowing. This significantly increases power transmission and protects the back.

The Uni.XT RDM is designed as a 2-thread system and is therefore compatible with all major sail brands. The sheet is guided through a loop system, eliminating the hassle of threading the sheet.
What is the best way to care for and transport the Uni.XT RDM?
Rinse the extension with fresh water after sessions to remove salt water and let it dry. For transport and storage, the upper end cap features a storage slot where excess sheet can be neatly stowed so that nothing gets tangled.
