UNI.XT – the most technically advanced and at the same time lightest standard aluminum extension we have ever built. Now also available in exclusive SLS carbon technology – the lightest extension in the world!
Everyone has probably experienced surprises with standard extensions. They rarely match the rope path on the sail, usually require high trimming forces, and usually have rather fiddly height adjustments. All these issues were meticulously analyzed and then eliminated in the UNI.XT before construction began. The high-strength and super-solid UNI.XT extension may look like many other standard extensions at first glance, but it is packed with innovations that make it an incomparable product. The current version features a completely new adjustment ring that offers a unique feature: based on the proven SDM adjustment ring, it is now ensured for the first time with the RDM version that the aluminum tube does not come into contact with the mast, which prevents any contact corrosion. No other RDM extension can do that! To guarantee the same durability despite the reduced diameter, a double-walled construction of 7075 aluminum outer tube and ovalized T8 inner tube is used (patent pending).

Which masts is the Duotone Uni.XT SDM blue suitable for?
The Duotone Uni.XT SDM is designed for standard masts (SDM) and, thanks to the Uni-Thread system, is compatible with sails from all major manufacturers, including Duotone, NeilPryde, GA, GunSails, Naish, and Severne.
What is the adjustment range and weight of the SDM 42 version?
The SDM 42 version offers an adjustment range of 2 to 42 cm and weighs 640 g according to the manufacturer. This makes it the larger of the two SDM lengths in the Uni.XT family.
What is the blue color option intended for?
The Uni.XT SDM blue is visually designed to match blue masts and sails, so that it harmonizes in color with many current SDM masts. Technically and in terms of dimensions, it is identical to the standard Uni.XT SDM.
How does the Loop-Loop-Go Quicktrim system work?
With the Loop-Loop-Go Quicktrim, the sheet is guided once as a loop over two pulleys on the sail and hooked at the bottom of the extension. This is particularly fast and intuitive, ideal if you often want to change setups or keep the sails flat.
When should I use the 3-pulley trimming?
Duotone recommends routing the sheet over all three pulleys for sail areas of approximately 6.5 m² and above. This significantly reduces the required trimming force and allows you to tension the sail more precisely and with less effort.
Can the Uni.XT SDM be upgraded with Shox later?
Yes, the SDM variants (28 and 42 cm) of the Uni.XT are Shox-upgradeable. You can therefore retrofit the extension with the additional damping technology later using the separate Shox Upgrade Kit.
How do I properly care for the aluminum extension?
Rinse the Uni.XT with fresh water after sessions in salt water, let it dry, and regularly check the adjustment ring and pulleys for sand or deposits. This keeps the mechanism smooth and prevents corrosion.
How long is the warranty on the Duotone Uni.XT?
Duotone provides a two-year unconditional warranty on the Uni.XT, provided the product is registered online. Registration is therefore mandatory if you want to be covered in the event of a warranty claim.
