Description
Description
This classic board combines the stability beginners need with enough sportiness for advanced surfers. Unlike a very wide entry-level board like the Funster, the Funster Sport has a narrower and longer hull. Once you master the basics of windsurfing, this board will get you planing quickly in light winds and immediately give you a traditional "funboard feeling". Its wide range of applications: playing, learning, cruising, planing, and having fun in the most diverse conditions. Once it's planing, it feels fast, agile, and lively.

FAQ
FAQ
FAQ
Who is the JP Australia Funster Sport 2026 suitable for?
The Funster Sport 2026 is aimed at ambitious beginners and advanced windsurfers. Thanks to the narrower and longer hull compared to the wide Funster, it offers more sportiness while remaining stable enough to safely learn the basics of windsurfing.
What sizes are available for the Funster Sport 2026 and which one is right for me?
The board is available in three volumes: 145 liters (270 x 70 cm, approx. 11.7 kg), 165 liters (275 x 75 cm, approx. 12.5 kg), and 195 liters (280 x 82.5 cm, approx. 13.8 kg). As a rule of thumb: the smaller version is for lighter riders and advanced riders, while the larger volume is for heavier riders and beginners. If in doubt, a short consultation in our shop will help.
What sail size is suitable for the Funster Sport 2026?
According to JP Australia, the ideal sail size is between 4.5 and 9.0 m². This means the board covers a wide range of wind conditions, and you can use it both for planing in light wind and for sporty riding in stronger conditions.
What role does the retractable daggerboard play on the Funster Sport?
The retractable daggerboard provides additional stability when tacking and makes sailing upwind easier. At higher planing speeds, it can be partially or completely retracted, making the board noticeably livelier and faster.
Which fin is fitted on the Funster Sport 2026 and what is the box?
The board comes with a Ride 38 fin in a powerbox design, combined with the retractable daggerboard. This setup is designed for both beginners and sporty cruising.
How do I properly care for and transport the Funster Sport 2026?
Rinse the board with fresh water after every session, especially the daggerboard and fin, and let it dry before storing it. Carry straps on the nose and tail make transport easier, and the full-surface EVA deck with a micro-dot structure offers you a secure stance and protects the hull.
What safety features does the Funster Sport 2026 offer?
The reinforced nose reliably protects against damage from mast strikes, the retractable daggerboard gives you confidence when tacking, and JP's foot strap scale allows for easy adjustment to different shoe sizes. The color-coded EVA deck pad also helps you find the optimal foot position at all times.
