Performance Wind-Foil Slalom Competition
FOIL PERFECTION
Unbelievable! Foiling faster and faster! JP’s fastest foilboards have become even faster – again! This year, the most important performance-enhancing feature of all these boards is their construction: S-TEC gives the boards a new, completely different look and makes the already very light boards even lighter! The boards take off earlier and are easier to control in the air.
The range has been streamlined to the core sizes: 80, 85, and 88. The main focus has been on efficiency, especially minimizing drag and improving control in the air. To achieve this, the boards have a flat nose scoop, thin rails in the front, and a slightly domed deck at the nose to optimize airflow. The deck shape in the standing area is flat, with raised pads that extend beyond the rail, providing consistent leverage on the foil. Only the main competition size, the 85, now comes in a completely new shape.
Weight optimization is particularly important for performance boards. That's why the new and groundbreaking S-TEC construction is also used for JP's race boards. The estimated average weight saving of the S-TEC for the HydroFoil Slalom is up to 0.3 kilos. Considering that the previous boards were already extremely light, any additional weight reduction is impressive!
FAQ
FAQ
FAQ
Who is the JP HydroFoil Slalom S-TEC designed for?
The board is aimed at ambitious foilers and racing sailors seeking maximum speed, control, and efficiency in slalom foiling.
What sizes are available and how do they differ?
The HydroFoil Slalom S-TEC is available in widths of 80, 85, and 88 cm. This allows the board to be tailored to your body weight, desired sail size, and wind range.
What sail size is suitable for the board?
The recommended minimum sail size depends on the board width, being above approximately 6.7 m² for the 80 and over 7.7 m² for the 85 – the ideal range for classic foil slalom sails.
What foil mount is installed?
The board is equipped with a JP Foil Tuttle box (Deep Tuttle) and reinforced for foils with a Deep Tuttle box base – compatible with the recommended JP/NeilPryde Flight Foils.
What does the S-TEC construction mean?
S-TEC stands for a minimalist, ultra-light construction with an optimized laminate structure made of biaxial carbon and high-density PVC. Compared to conventional construction, it saves up to 300 g in weight without compromising stability.
How much does the board weigh?
Depending on the size, the weight is approximately 7.8 kg (80), 8.5 kg (85), and 8.1 kg (88) – with a tolerance of +/- 6%.
Is there a mast foot/sail setting?
No, the board does not have a windsurf mast plug. It is designed purely as a foil slalom board and is ridden with a foil.
How do I properly care for and transport the board?
After use, rinse with fresh water, protect from direct sunlight, and store in a padded board bag such as the JP Boardbag Light WS to protect the surface and rails from pressure marks.
