The KT Apex Carbon Mast is a high-performance foil mast made from ultra-high-modulus carbon with UD carbon reinforcement. It is designed for wing foiling, wave riding, prone, downwind, racing and tow applications and is available in three lengths, each tailored to specific disciplines.

What sizes is the KT Apex Carbon Mast available in?

The KT Apex Carbon Mast is available in lengths of 77 cm, 85 cm and 95 cm. Each size is a standalone, discipline-specific design with individually tailored geometry for an optimal range of use.

What is each mast length suitable for?

The individual lengths are tailored to different applications: 77 cm for downwind racing, prone, wake and tow; 85 cm for wing foiling, wave riding and freeriding; and 95 cm as a race mast for high top speeds, big wave, tow and winging.

What material is the KT Apex Carbon Mast made of?

The mast is made from ultra-high-modulus carbon with additional UD carbon strip reinforcement using a high-modulus pre-preg carbon construction. Stainless steel Helicoil inserts ensure a permanently secure connection between the board and the foil.

How much less drag does the Apex have compared to conventional carbon masts?

KT states that, depending on the conditions, the Apex Carbon Mast generates up to 35 percent less drag than conventional carbon constructions. The multi-airfoil design with aggressive taper reduces both underwater drag and surface splash drag.

What are the special features of the KT Apex Carbon Mast design?

The mast uses a forward-leaning multi-airfoil profile with aggressive taper and a forward-shifted base plate. This places the center of gravity closer to the rider, improving balance and maneuverability and providing more direct feedback.

Is the KT Apex Carbon Mast compatible with all KT foils?

The mast is part of the KT Foil System and is designed for KT front and back wings such as the Nomad, Atlas, Solus, Halo, Atom or Pulse. The forward-shifted base plate and Helicoil inserts ensure a secure, durable connection in the KT setup.
