FAQ

FAQ

Who is the KT Foil Blade Pro Carbon paddle suitable for?

The KT Foil Blade Pro Carbon is aimed at SUP foilers, downwind SUP riders, and anyone who wants to foil from flat water to waves. From beginners to pros, it offers the right setup for every rider weight and board with the three blade sizes S, M, and L.

Which blade size should I choose?

The choice depends on the board, rider weight, and personal style. S with 87 in² is more efficient and provides a higher cadence, M with 95 in² is the all-rounder for most riders, L with 105 in² delivers maximum power per stroke for larger riders and longer boards. If in doubt, M is the safest choice.

How long should the paddle be, and can I shorten it?

Uncut, the paddle is 194 cm long. You can cut the shaft to your desired length. KT recommends starting at approximately head height and attaching the handle with hot glue and heat shrink tubing if you want to shorten it further later.

What material is the paddle made of?

The blade, shaft, and handle are made entirely of pre-preg carbon. This ensures a very lightweight and stiff construction with a durable, impact-resistant core that can also withstand contact with reefs and rocks.

How heavy is the paddle?

Depending on the blade size, the complete paddle including the handle weighs approximately 435 g (S), 438 g (M), or 440 g (L), with a tolerance of ±7.5 percent. The actual weight varies with the final shaft length, as shortening it reduces the overall weight.

What is included, and is the paddle assembled?

The delivery includes the paddle with the pre-assembled blade and shaft, as well as the loose handle and a protective cover. Glue is not included; the handle is fixed with hot glue and heat shrink tubing.

For what conditions is the Foil Blade Pro Carbon designed?

The blade profile is designed for 0 to 10 mph, i.e., 0 to 16 km/h, making it ideal for paddling speed when foiling, low-end acceleration, and clean pop-ups. The 5-degree angle and medium-camber foil profile ensure stable, controlled strokes without wobbling or fluttering.
