FAQ
FAQ
FAQ
What conditions is the Maui Ultra Fins X-Wave designed for?
The X-Wave is a wave fin designed for use in the waves in onshore and sideshore conditions. It was developed, among other things, for radical turns in onshore wind on Sylt and impresses with speed, control, and maneuverability in every wave.
What material is used in the X-Wave?
The fin is made of G10, an extremely robust and durable material. Small corrections or reshaping the edges can be easily carried out with G10.
What sizes is the X-Wave available in?
The X-Wave is offered in sizes from 18 to 32 cm – from 18 to 26 cm in 1-cm increments, and from 26 cm in 2-cm increments. The version offered here is 19 cm (148 cm²) and is therefore ideal for smaller wave and onshore setups.
Which fin box systems does the X-Wave support?
The X-Wave is available in the Powerbox (PB) and Slotbox (18–26 cm) systems, as well as the US-Box. This makes it compatible with common wave boards.
Who is the X-Wave suitable for?
The X-Wave is aimed at advanced wave surfers looking for a fast, loose, and maneuverable fin. Ambitious beginners in the wave area also benefit from the balanced mix of speed and control.
Who rides the X-Wave in competition?
The X-Wave is Philip Köster's single-fin choice and is also ridden by the Moreno twins and Sarah-Quita Offringa in the Maui Ultra Fins team – a real pro setup for radical turns.
How do I properly care for the G10 fin?
Rinse the fin with fresh water after every session and check the edges occasionally. You can carefully resharpen smaller burrs or dull spots with fine sandpaper – the G10 material makes the rework uncomplicated.
