Who is the North Local Pro RDM mast suitable for?
The Local Pro RDM is aimed at ambitious wave and freestyle windsurfers who want to get the maximum out of their North sail without having to invest in the highest premium class. Thanks to 100% carbon and 24K carbon fibers in a tow-preg construction, it delivers a very direct response for powerful riding at your local spot.
What technologies are used in the Local Pro RDM?
The mast combines four North technologies: Tow Preg (continuous carbon fibers for high strength at low weight), Variable Pitch (extremely smooth, sail-accurate bend line), the Mushroom Sand Stopper (foam plugs against sand in the element joint) as well as the Integrated Ferrule 2.0 (softer transition at the element joint). It is manufactured in Australia.
In which lengths is the North Local Pro RDM available?
The Local Pro RDM is available in several lengths (370, 400 and 430 cm), so you can choose the right size for your sail and your riding area. Choose the length so that it matches the recommended mast length of your sail.
Does the Local Pro RDM fit every windsurf sail?
The Local Pro RDM is a Reduced-Diameter mast (RDM) and is designed for use with compatible RDM sails. For an optimal bend curve and full performance, we recommend combining it with a North sail, as the Variable-Pitch bend line is precisely tuned to the North sail design.
How do I properly care for and transport the carbon mast?
Rinse the mast with fresh water after sessions in salt water and let it dry before storing it. The Mushroom Sand Stopper cleans loose particles at the element joint during setup. For transport and storage, a padded mast bag is recommended to protect the carbon surface from scratches and UV radiation.
What distinguishes the Local Pro RDM from the Ultimate RDM or MDM?
The Local Pro RDM is the more accessible 100% carbon variant in the North mast program. The Ultimate RDM is aimed at pro riders with an even more finely tuned bend characteristic, while the Local Pro MDM offers a larger mast diameter for more stiffness with larger sails. The Local Pro RDM delivers the best ratio of performance and price for demanding wave sailors.
How is the North Local Pro RDM delivered?
The mast is shipped in the right size (370, 400 or 430 cm) including a mast bag or shipping tube. Due to the length, shipping is done as bulky goods (mast shipping). Check the integrity of the carbon surface and the element connection after receipt.
