Because the Alien is designed exclusively as a windsurfing foil board, all variables can work together harmoniously, moving beyond merely balancing on a foil to WINDSURFING on a foil. A functional foil board with refined details that makes foiling both accessible and desirable.
The Alien development program was launched when the first people started screwing a hydrofoil onto a regular windsurf board. By analyzing and acquiring a deep understanding of the new variables that foiling introduced, we realized that specialized, foil-specific equipment was needed to make the experience a true windsurfing experience. Control and carving turns instead of balanced, nervous trimming.
The differences between the Alien and a regular freeride board are numerous: shape, length, rocker, stance—pretty much everything. But this new geometry, in conjunction with the foil and rig, provides balance and a new world of windsurfing for any experienced windsurfer.

Who is the Severne Alien Foil Board suitable for?
The Alien Foil was specially developed for windsurfers who want to take the step onto a foil. It is stable enough for the first flights and at the same time offers enough performance so that you won't outgrow the board's performance in the long term – from entry-level to advanced windfoiling.
Which board sizes are available and which one is right for me?
The Alien is available in volumes of 105, 115, 120, 125, 145 and 155 liters. The choice depends on your riding weight, your skill level and the wind conditions. For individual advice, we recommend visiting a specialist dealer such as Surfshop Fehmarn.
What constructions are available for the Alien?
The Alien is offered in two versions: The Custom Precision Technology (CNC-machined, hand-shaped, Biax Carbon and Biax Glass) is performance-oriented with the highest dimensional accuracy. The Moulded Technology (glass and carbon construction) offers maximum durability at a lower price.
How heavy is the Severne Alien Foil Board?
The weight varies depending on the size: The Alien 105 weighs approx. 7.2 kg, the 115 approx. 7.3 kg, the 120 approx. 7.5 kg, the 125 approx. 7.5 kg and the 145 approx. 8.3 kg. The carbon construction makes the board particularly light and responsive.
Which sail size is suitable for the Severne Alien?
Depending on the board size and rider weight, sails in the range of approx. 4.8 to 8.0 square meters are suitable according to the manufacturer. For early foil entry, sails between 4.5 and 6.5 square meters have proven themselves in tests.
What distinguishes the Alien from a normal freeride board?
The Alien is a pure windsurf foil board, where the shape, length, rocker, mast track position and footstrap geometry are tailored to foiling. The mast track is positioned further back for a vertical rig, the footstraps are narrower and turned more outwards – everything for an upright balance over the foil lift.
How do I properly care for the board?
The Alien features a Gore-Tex air vent that must not be removed – it automatically regulates the internal pressure. We recommend replacing the valve every three years. For transport and storage, Severne recommends the appropriate Lite-Shell or Lite-Roller board bags.
Does every foil fit the Alien?
The Alien is designed for harmony with the foil and rig. Severne offers a perfectly coordinated foil with the RedWing Hydrofoil, which was described in tests as extremely flight-stable and easy to jibe. For other foils, we recommend consulting a specialist dealer regarding the compatibility of the mount and geometry.
