Description

The next-generation Convert delivers competitively priced performance. The latest SEVERNE sail shaping technology and a graded monofilm construction are incorporated into this sail. The Convert is ideal for blasting, suitable for recreational use and beginners.

Technologies such as "Gradient Monofilm Construction" have already proven their worth. Both high-performance freeride and racing sails already feature this technology.

SEAMLESS HEAD PANEL

This high-abrasion area consists of only one panel and has no exposed seams, thus avoiding a potential weak point in this area. This eliminates seam-related failures.

MONOFILM CONSTRUCTION

Maximum stability and performance

GRADIENT PANEL TECHNOLOGY

Instead of a single curved luff panel, we use separate panels – Split Luff – that radiate from the head and tack corners. This perfectly aligns the sail material with the direction of stress.

BOOM HEIGHT REFERENCE

Height gauge for better orientation

SEAMLESS FOOT CONSTRUCTION

A single panel in the foot area with concealed stress points and no exposed seams prevents seam abrasion and seam creep in this highly stressed area. Maximum durability and minimum weight.

FAQ

FAQ

Who is the Severne Convert sail suitable for?

The Severne Convert is a no-cam freeride sail that is ideal for jumping and cruising. It is aimed at recreational windsurfers and intermediate riders looking for a lightweight, forgiving, yet high-performance sail.

In what sizes is the Severne Convert available?

The Severne Convert is available in six sizes from 5.0 to 7.5 square meters. This means you will find the right sail area for various wind conditions and body weights.

Which masts are suitable for the Severne Convert?

The Convert can be ridden with both RDM and SDM masts. The matching Severne masts are recommended, such as the RDM Red 430 or RDM Blue or Gorilla 430, to take advantage of the coordinated bend curve for optimal performance.

What technologies are used in the Severne Convert?

The sail features a graded monofilm construction for maximum stability and performance, seamless head and foot constructions to prevent seam failure, gradient panel technology with a split luff, and a boom height reference as a guide.

How many battens does the Severne Convert have?

The Severne Convert is equipped with a 5-batten construction. This ensures a balanced ratio of stability, lightness, and easy handling when rigging.

Is the Severne Convert also suitable for beginners?

Yes, the Convert was specially developed for intermediate and advanced recreational riders. The Dacron luff area makes the sail forgiving, while the modern no-cam construction allows for easy rigging and handling.

Can I use a larger mast than recommended?

Severne advises against using a mast larger than the recommended one. The current Convert generation has a fixed top, so the head cannot be adjusted. A longer mast would make the sail stiffer and less forgiving.

Which boom is suitable for the Severne Convert?

The Enigma 160 or Metal 160 with a Triple-X extension are suitable as recommended booms. These combinations are matched to the sizes of the Convert and ensure a harmonious rig setup.
