Description

The Severne NCX 2019 is a high-performance No-Cam (camberless) Slalom and Freerace sail that descends directly from the World Cup racing sails (Mach series).

The main features of the 2019 model:

  • Performance & Speed: It offers the stability and top speed of a camber sail, but achieves this without rigid profile battens. It is extremely fast on reaching and downwind courses.

  • Handling: By eliminating camber, the sail is featherlight compared to true racing sails, can be maneuvered playfully (tacking/gybing), and rotates effortlessly.

  • Design & Geometry: It features a shortened mast sleeve (reduced swing weight) and a deep profile in the lower section. The high surface tension (Skin Tension) keeps the profile stable even in strong winds and ensures an enormous wind range.

The sails are in good condition. The 7 was used a bit more, and tape was applied as a precaution to a crease.

FAQ

FAQ

Who is the Severne NCX 7.0 suitable for?

The Severne NCX is aimed at advanced windsurfers looking for a fast, camberless freerace sail with racing pedigree, but who do not want the weight and complexity of a full-camber sail.

What sail area does the offered sail have?

The used sail offered here has a size of 7.0 square meters, as can be read directly on the sail. To match this, a mast length of 460 cm is recommended according to the print.

What mast and boom dimensions are suitable for the NCX 7.0?

According to the print on the sail, a mast with a length of 460 cm and a boom with a length of 191 cm are recommended for the 7.0 size. EXT specifications are noted in the tail area – stick to the manufacturer's specifications when trimming.

What does the "Constant Curve" bend curve mean?

A Constant Curve bend curve ensures a uniformly curved mast pocket over the entire sail length. This results in a harmonious profile, easy rigging, and a wide wind range – ideal for camberless freerace sails like the NCX.

What condition is the used NCX 7.0 in?

According to the description, the sail is overall in good condition. On the 7.0, tape was applied to a crease as a precaution – minor signs of wear are normal for a performance sail from 2021.

For which wind strengths is the NCX 7.0 designed?

The NCX is designed as a freerace sail for speed and a wide wind range. With 7.0 m², you typically move in the range of about 15 to 25 knots, depending on the board, rider weight, and trim.

What advantages does a camberless No-Cam sail offer in freerace?

Without camber, the sail is significantly lighter, easier to rig, and can be maneuvered more playfully during jibes and tacks than a full-camber racing sail – with high top speed and a stable profile thanks to high skin tension.

What is included with the purchase?

Only the used sail is sold, as pictured. Mast, boom, extension, and lines are not included in the delivery and must be obtained separately.
