FAQ

FAQ

Who is the Severne REDBACK sail designed for?

The Severne REDBACK is specially designed for smaller and lighter windsurfers as well as children. The geometry with a lower leading edge and deeper mast sleeve is tailored to smaller riders, making the sail feel ultralight and balanced.

In which sizes is the REDBACK available?

The Severne REDBACK is available in seven sizes from 2.5 to 4.7 square meters. This covers the entire range from a light children's sail to a high-performance junior wave sail.

How many battens does the REDBACK have?

All current sizes of the Severne REDBACK are equipped with a 4-batten layout. This provides additional stability, an even sail profile, and good control in all conditions.

Which mast is recommended for the REDBACK?

For sizes up to 3.0, the REDBACK 300/330 mast is ideal. From 3.4 onwards, Severne recommends the RDM BLUE for maximum performance or the GORILLA mast for maximum durability with a 2-year warranty.

What materials and technologies are used in the REDBACK?

The REDBACK is made from high-quality eM3 materials with polyester scrim and X-Ply fibers. A thermoformed leading edge cover protects the board, and the molded soft edge protects the seams along the foot from wear.

For which areas of use is the REDBACK suitable?

The REDBACK is a true wave performance sail that has been specially scaled for smaller riders. It combines the stability of the Blade with the flexibility of the S-1, making it suitable for both light training and powerful wave sessions.

How do I care for and repair my REDBACK sail?

After use, you should rinse the sail with fresh water and store it dry. Replacement materials and repair kits are available from your local Severne dealer or distributor.

Is the REDBACK also suitable for strong winds?

Yes, the Severne REDBACK is made from the same high-quality materials as all Severne sails and can also withstand stronger winds. The reduced sail tension makes it particularly easy for lighter riders to control.
