FAQ
Who is the Severne S-1 2026 suitable for?
The S-1 is a maneuver-oriented wave sail designed for wave and maneuver enthusiasts looking for a responsive, lightweight sail with plenty of backhand drive. It works in everything from knee-high waves to large ocean swells and supports both vertical moves and aerial maneuvers.
In which sizes is the S-1 2026 available?
The S-1 2026 is available in ten sizes from 3.0 to 5.6. This covers a wide wind range and suits different rider weights and conditions.
How many battens does the S-1 have, and what does that mean for handling?
The S-1 is designed as a 4-batten wave sail. The reduced number of battens makes it particularly light, flexible, and responsive, so it feels like having a spring that can be loaded and released as needed.
What technologies are used in the S-1 2026?
The 2026 generation includes DirectConnect carbon fiber load strips, HT webbing, a D6 Dacron luff panel for smooth power delivery, and VX2 as a stabilizing body material. Gradient Panel Technology reduces weight and controls stretch for more direct power transfer.
Which mast is suitable for the S-1 2026?
Depending on the size, Severne recommends RDM masts from its own range. For the smaller sizes, an RDM Blue 340 is the choice, while an RDM Red 370 or 400 is used from size 4.0 up. You can find the details in the size chart on the Severne product page.
Is the S-1 also suitable for flat water and freestyle tricks?
Yes, the S-1 is designed for agility and maneuvers, so it can also be used for hook-ins, quick jibes, and demanding moves. It was developed together with wave pro Jaeger Stone and is tuned for a springy, lightweight riding experience.
How do I properly care for and store my wave sail?
Rinse the sail with fresh water after contact with salt water, let it dry thoroughly before storing it, and keep it dry and protected from light. Avoid direct sunlight for extended periods, as UV radiation can damage the materials.
