The S-1 Pro is the high-performance 4-batten wave sail. The reduced number of battens makes this sail light, flexible and responsive. Designed for all types of conditions, this lightweight powerhouse redefines responsiveness. The S-1 has more backhand pressure than the Blade and is calibrated for both vertical and aerial maneuvers.
The latest generation S-1 has a fuller head that opens up further under load, increasing the power range, high-end control, and wind range. The aspect ratio has been reduced in smaller sizes to decrease twitchiness. In combination with the fuller head, the area distribution is more distinct.
Both the S-1 and S-1 Pro were developed on an identical platform. The PRO construction offers the ultimate experience, while the S-1 replicates the dynamic performance in a more accessible construction.

The S-1 Pro is Severne's powerful 4-batten wave sail for advanced and ambitious wave surfers. It shines in knee-high waves as well as powerful ocean swells and supports both vertical turns and aerial maneuvers.
What distinguishes the S-1 Pro from the regular S-1?
Both sails share an identical platform. The S-1 Pro is fully made of CarbonFusion with welded seams and batten pockets. This eliminates the thousands of micro-holes of classic seams and ensures immediate response, less stretch under load, more stability, and a smoother surface.
What sizes are available for the S-1 Pro?
The S-1 Pro is available in sizes 3.0, 3.3, 3.6, 4.0, 4.4, 4.6, 4.8, 5.0, 5.2, and 5.6 square meters. This reliably covers light to strong wind.
Which masts are suitable for the S-1 Pro?
Severne recommends the Blue RDM for the smaller sizes (3.0 to 3.6) and the Red RDM for the larger sails (4.0 to 5.6). The RDM masts can be combined variably depending on the size, so you can adjust the setup to your conditions.
Which boom and which extension are recommended?
Severne recommends the Enigma Boom in 140 or 150 cm length in combination with the matching METAL boom extension. For sizes 4.6 and 5.6, the longer 150 extension is used, for the other sizes the Cyclops 24.
What technologies are in the S-1 Pro?
The sail uses GRADIENT PANEL TECHNOLOGY. The panels radiate from the head and tail neck and are aligned along the load direction. Unidirectional carbon fibers in combination with Off-Axis Dyneema reduce weight, control stretch, and ensure direct power transfer.

The S-1 Pro was developed together with Jaeger Stone. His wave and big-air experience from Maui is incorporated into the profile, head profile, and draft of the individual sizes.
For what areas of use is the S-1 Pro intended?
