FAQ

FAQ

What activities is the ProLimit Shield Steamer Free-X 4/3 designed for?

The Shield Steamer Free-X 4/3 is specifically designed for wing foiling, foiling, windsurfing, and kitesurfing. The Shield Zones on the shoulder, forearm, knee, and shin reliably protect against impacts from the foil, mast, or board.

What is the suit made of, and how sustainable is it?

The suit is 100 percent neoprene-free and made from FSC-certified NaturePrene2® soy-based material with recycled Eco Carbon Black. The Airflex 550+ outer material provides stretch and durability, while the inside features warming Zodiac Jacquard Velvet Fleece with quick-drying thermal fleece.

How thick is the suit at different parts of the body?

The model has a thickness of 4/3 mm: 4 mm NaturePrene2® on the torso for good thermal insulation, and 3 mm on the arms and legs for maximum freedom of movement when pumping and riding.

What protection features do the Shield Zones offer?

The right shoulder is reinforced on the outside with Fluid Neoprene and on the inside with memory padding. The forearms feature an abrasion-resistant lining, the knees are protected by armored KED knee pads, and an reinforced layer on the shin protects against cuts and sharp edges.

What zipper system does the Shield Free-X have?

The suit uses the YKK Free-X zipper with an asymmetrical front zip: one side is fixed, the other open, the zipper closes at the top and blocks water from entering. The seamless back area ensures maximum flexibility.

How are the seams finished, and how do you care for the suit?

The seams are GBS – triple-glued and blind-stitched – and sealed with liquid rubber for long-lasting waterproofing. After a session, rinse with fresh water, let dry flat in the shade, and do not store in the sun or tumble dry, so that the NaturePrene2® membrane remains elastic over the long term.

In which sizes is the Shield Steamer Free-X 4/3 available?

The suit is available in seven sizes from 48/S to 56/XXL, including the Tall cuts 51/MT and 53/LT for taller bodies. This way you will find the right fit for your build and riding area.

For what water temperatures is the 4/3 recommended?

With 4 mm on the torso and 3 mm on the limbs, the suit is designed for moderate to cool water temperatures, typically during the European season between spring and autumn as well as in warmer winter regions.
